Who are we?
We are Megatrend Lifestyles (“Company”).
GiftSpider is a brand and trading style of Megatrend Lifestyles.
We offer a variety of products to customers via our website at https://www.giftspider.co.uk (“website”).
Megatrend Lifestyles is a partnership company whose registered office is at; Chandos House, School Lane, Buckingham MK18 1HD.
We use your information as further explained in this Privacy Notice. We’ll be the “controller” of the information you provide to us.
Our website may contain links to other websites, which will have their own privacy notices and terms.
What does this Privacy Notice cover?
We at Megatrend Lifestyles take your personal data seriously. This notice explains:

What personal data do we collect about you?
We will collect certain personal information about you in the course of your relationship with us.
This information includes your name, email address, postal address and telephone number. If you purchase products from us we will pass you to our secure card payment processor (currently PayPal) who will ask for your debit/credit card information. This information is not collected by us or held on our systems.
When you browse our websites we also capture your computer’s IP address, to provide us with information that allows us to know which internet browser and operating system your device uses, This helps us to provide you the best online experience.
We do not collect sensitive personal data about you.
From where do we collect personal data about you?
We collect personal information about you on our website(s) when you place an order for products AND/OR services, or subscribe to receive information from us.
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To facilitate your order we need your name and postal address. Ideally we also need your phone number (optional), purely for the purpose of contacting you if there is a problem with your order, or delivery of your order. You will never receive sales calls from us.
- Marketing emails are sent to you with your prior permission only.
- We do not use your data unless you request us to do so. If you choose to sign up to receive information from us we may send you emails about our website(s), new products, offers and other pertinent information.
- To contact you to discuss the services or products you receive from us (and any changes to them); to respond to any questions or concerns you have raised; to deal with administrative matters such as orders, payment transactions and returns; to otherwise carry out our obligations arising under our contract with your and to enforce the same.
It is important that you know:
- We will not use your information for any other purposes unless we are required to do so by law.
- We do not and can not store your payment card details. Those details are known only by PayPal for the secure processing of your payment.
How long do we keep your personal data?
How long we keep your information will depend on the purpose for which we use it.
We only keep your information (Name, Postal Address, Email Address, and Phone Number (if provided) for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice and to fulfil our legal obligations. We have internal rules that set out how long we retain information.
Who do we share your personal data with?
We share your personal information with third parties who perform functions on our behalf such as shipping the products you have purchased to your postal address.
We share your personal information with our other companies for internal reasons, primarily for business and operational purposes.
We do not share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
As we continue to develop our business, we may sell or purchase assets. If another entity acquires us or merges with us your personal information will be disclosed to such entity.
If any bankruptcy or reorganisation proceeding is brought by or against us, all such information will be considered an asset of ours and as such it is possible they will be sold or transferred to third parties.
Where required we share your personal information with third parties to comply with a legal obligation; when we believe in good faith that an applicable law requires it; at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation; to detect and protect against fraud, or any technical or security vulnerabilities; to respond to an emergency; or otherwise to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of third parties, visitors to our website, our business or the public.
These third parties comply with similar and equally stringent undertakings of privacy and confidentiality.
No other third parties have access to your information unless we specifically say so in this Privacy Notice, or the law requires this.
What legal basis do we have for using your personal data?
We process your information:
- to be able to provide you with products AND/OR services in line with our Terms & Conditions via the GiftSpider.co.uk website;
- as this is necessary for the performance of the contract with you for the provision of goods AND/OR service or to take steps at your request prior to entering into this contract;
- as this is necessary in pursuit of our legitimate interests in marketing similar products and services to you. Note: You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of personal data concerning you which is based on legitimate interests. More information on this right and on how to exercise it is set out below.
What happens if you do not provide us with the information we request, or you ask that we stop processing your information?
If we have a commercial contract with you, i.e. if you have placed an order with us, our contractual obligations under that contract require us to process your information. If you have no orders outstanding with us, we will, at your request, stop processing your information.
Do we make automated decisions concerning you?
No, we do not carry out automated decision making or automated profiling.
Persistent marketing and analytics cookies
These cookies contain a unique user ID which will enable Klarna to recognize the user’s device the next time that user returns to a merchant using Klarna’s services. These are persistent cookies, stored on the device for a period of up to 540 days as of the last interaction with Klarna, or until they are deleted and allow Klarna (i) to show personalized marketing of Klarna products, including credit promotions to the user, and (ii) to perform analytics of the user behaviour.
By connecting the unique user ID stored in the cookie on the device to the information Klarna has about the user, Klarna will be able to recognize the user of that device. The information Klarna collects through the cookies is not shared with any third party.
The user’s consent and revocation of consent
Klarna Bank AB (publ) is subject to Swedish Data Protection legislation, and is the data controller for the purpose of processing the personal data as described above. Where do we store your personal data?

All information you provide to us is securely stored on our UK-located systems.
Currently, we only process your information within the UK and European Union. If we or our service providers transfer personal data outside of the UK, we always require that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect the information when it is processed.
How do we keep your personal data secure?
We ensure the security of your personal data through use of encryption, firewalls, password protection and multi-factor authentication. We also take steps to ensure all our subsidiaries, agents, affiliates and suppliers employ adequate levels of security.

1) The right to be informed

How will we handle a request to exercise your rights?
We’ll respond as soon as we can. Generally, this will be within one month from when we receive your request but, if the request is going to take longer to deal with, we’ll come back to you and let you know. We usually act on requests and provide information free of charge, but may charge a reasonable fee to cover our administrative costs of providing the information for:
- baseless or excessive/repeated requests, or
- further copies of the same information.
Alternatively, the law may allow us to refuse to act on the request.
